The Enhancement Technology Powering Ikena

MotionDSP's patented super-resolution algorithms have the unique ability to increase resolution and to remove video noise like graininess and pixelation. The sophisticated techniques behind super-resolution technology also enable Ikena to provide unrivaled stabilization for shaky videos.

How Super-Resolution Technology Works

The basis of super-resolution technology is "multi-frame analysis."

A video is a series of many rapid snapshots of a scene. Due to camera or subject motion, multiple neighboring frames of video each provide a slightly different view of the subjects in the scene, collectively providing a rich amount of information about scene details. In an automatic process, MotionDSP's powerful super-resolution algorithms literally reconstruct each video frame with the best pixel information available from all neighboring frames, resulting in better, cleaner detail.

In addition, the sophisticated object-tracking inherent in our multi-frame analysis provides the basis for the most advanced image stabilization available today.

Unlike software that uses frame-averaging techniques, Ikena can enhance both moving and non-moving objects and complex scenes which combine both camera motion and object motion. Learn more.
